The day is finally here! After nearly 6 months of planning and work, "Over the Pass" will be officially released the weekend of April 21st at the Durango Bluegrass Meltdown. We'll be playing several sets over the course of the weekend and will have CDs for sale, along with some brand-new merch courtesy of Tim Kapustka of Cabbage Creative. We've begun ordering T-shirts, prints, and hats with Tim's designs for Kickstarter fulfillment and sale at gigs, too... been a big couple of weeks for SHJ!
After an intense week in the studio with Scott "Scooter" Smith in downtown Durango, we finally wrapped up tracking this past Saturday (Fred's birthday!). 12 original songs, 40+ hours of recording, re-recording & discussing, nearly countless beers consumed mostly by Fred, special guests, the StillHouse Revival Choir, and band bonding like never before. We're exhausted but can't wait to share the results with friends, family, and fans in another month when we have CDs in hand!
We've been listening to rough mixes and making small performance tweaks here and there and are on track to head up to Boulder at the end of the month for a mastering session with Grammy-winning engineer David Glasser! Keep an eye on our Instagram and Facebook feeds for behind-the-scenes glimpses of our work with Scooter and for some sneak previews of the record.
We're thrilled to announce the release of the first single off our upcoming album, Over The Pass. The title track was recorded, mixed, and mastered by the indefatigable Scott "Scooter" Smith at Scooter's Place in downtown Durango, CO. We drove up to Kennebec Pass (well, would've made it all the way up if Bruce's truck hadn't decided to almost slide off the road) a few weeks ago to shoot a music video with Keenan DesPlanques behind the camera - keep an eye out for the finished product before Christmas!
Available for streaming and download from Amazon, Spotify, iTunes, Bandcamp, and wherever else you might care to procure your music.
